CALDAN Group,  has acquired SEMA, a French engineering company known for its high-performance conveyor technologies and a long-term technology and distribution partner to CALDAN in the region. This strategic acquisition will significantly strengthen CALDAN’s position in the global industrial automation market and accelerate its expansion in southern Europe, well in line with CALDAN’s long-term strategy.

With the acquisition, SEMA will be the CALDAN hub in France, covering the strategically important French and southern European markets. SEMA will continue holding the customer relationships with local and regional system houses and end-users, in line with CALDAN’s decentralised global model with regional offices in Germany, UK, US, China, and India.

In addition to strengthening geographical coverage, the acquisition of SEMA will broaden CALDAN’s product range and capabilities within surface treatment.

Paulo Afonso, the founder and entrepreneurial force of SEMA’s growth journey, will remain in his current role as MD for the company to ensure leadership continuity and support future growth as the Le Mans facility is set to become a key growth and innovation hub for the region.
