Jonas Guldin – bringing systems to life around the world

Jonas joined CALDAN three years ago for his first major role after finishing his studies as an Automation Engineer at UCN, University of northern Denmark. With a background as a trained electrician, and an adventurous stint experiencing college life as an electrical engineering freshman in Utah, Jonas brings a wealth of practical and technical experience to our team.

Travelling the globe for on-site commissioning
As an automation engineer, Jonas is heavily involved in the programming of new systems and travels the world for on-site commissioning. He spends around 120 days a year travelling globally. For Jonas, travelling is one of the most exciting parts of the job. Because the project sites are rarely located in typical tourist areas, he gets to experience a much more authentic side of the countries he visits. He loves that the locals are always eager to share recommendations for great spots to see or the best authentic restaurants to try.

A hands-on approach and strong teamwork
Jonas describes his working style as structured and calm. When things get incredibly busy, he stays grounded by taking things one task at a time, simply working his way down the list often with the help of his teammates.

His background as an electrician means he is never afraid to roll up his sleeves for practical work. He is not the type of programmer who refuses to step away from the computer. If a colleague has a heavy workload, Jonas is always ready to jump in and back them up. This strong team mentality extends to the field, where spending up to twelve hours a day on site creates a very special bond among the crew. Whether he is out in the field or back at the office, Jonas highly values his colleagues and the fantastic, supportive atmosphere they share.

Pride in the projects
Jonas genuinely enjoys his work, especially the programming phase where he gets to be involved from the very beginning and eventually see a full system run successfully. He is particularly proud of his work on the Väderstad project, which went incredibly well.

Life outside of work
When Jonas is not programming or travelling the globe, he stays highly active. His free time revolves around sports, whether he is playing football, working out at the gym during the winter months, or enjoying a round of golf in the summer.
